About the course

Our MA Law is designed for non-law graduates who want to gain a legal qualification at Masters Level. An MA Law* is an internationally recognised qualification which maintains its merit both in and outside of the legal sector.

This qualification gives you the opportunity to progress with vocational training to become a qualified solicitor or barrister within England and Wales, but also provides a standalone internationally recognised Master’s award, which is highly attractive to employers in a variety of disciplines. This makes it the perfect choice if you want to keep your career options open.

Studying a Master’s degree will develop academic key skills such as evaluation, critical thinking and problem-solving while preparing you for further academic study in law and other related areas. You’ll be using the same research tools available to practitioners to enhance skills in legal research, including a wide range of written and oral communication skills.

Our dedicated employability service has an outstanding track record of finding students the right career path to suit them, whether in the legal sector or the wider business world.

*Subject to approval.

To be eligible to take up your place on our MA Law* you must possess an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) at 2:1 or above in any discipline.
